How 5 brothers put Los Hermanos Mexican Grill on the map in Clarksville - The Leaf-Chronicle

The Correas are a family who put their love for one another into their homemade food as well, and it's paying off. Their Los Hermanos Mexican Grill has been part of the Clarksville community since May, and it's developed a big following.

Originally from Mexico, the Correas are known for their hospitality and their generous amount of authentic food, according to one of their most loyal customers, 62-year-old Kenny Baggett, who's a Sunday regular.

Baggett said he's been dining at Los Hermanos with his family once a week after church since their opening.

"We just fell in love with them ... they’re a genuine family,” he said.

He supports the restaurant so much that people start to believe he's actually part of the business. "People say, 'Kenny, do you work for them?' all the time," he said.

Los Hermanos has a variety of great menu items, but his favorite is the ground beef fajita nachos.

'We stand out because we are family'

The Correa family said their business name represents who they are: Five of the nine family members are brothers, which is "hermanos" in Spanish.

The Correa brothers, Juan, 28, Ruben, 25, Adan, 31,  Adrian, 20, and Luis, 17, all work in the kitchen together and prepare the meals as ordered. The youngest daughter, Patricia Correa, 20, is the general manager.

Their mother, Marta Ruiz, 52, and father, Angel Correa, 52, both have a background of cooking Mexican cuisine, and they prep the food day to day.

Evelia Correa, 30, the oldest sister, actually has her own Mexican restaurant known as Tequila's in Nashville. Patricia said her older sister's restaurant was the family's inspiration for Los Hermanos.

“We thought, 'She's doing good ... and if she can, we can too; let's try it,'” Patricia said.

Patricia said they have customers who drive half an hour to dine in with them.

“I have customers that say they drive 30 minutes just to come eat here even though they have options where they live," she said. "And it makes us feel good to know we're doing a good job.”

Patricia said Clarksville has been treating the family well. Patricia and her brother Ruben both said they love their guests and they're happy to make them smile with their homemade food.

Although things started off slow, the family was never discouraged. The siblings spoke about how their relationship with one another brings in the customers.

“We stand out because we are family," Ruben said.

Whats next for Los Hermanos

In the early months of 2020, the family plans on opening a food truck under the same name that will travel back and forth from Clarksville to Nashville, according to Ruben.

Next year, the family plans to open a second restaurant in Dickson County.

Generation to generation, the Correa family said they look forward to passing the legacy down for a lifetime.
